• description | The rockerboard consists of a chipboard with non-slip surface and two cylindrical wooden arcs. | |
The rockerboard is used to train sensory
motor skills and treat hypermobility and post-traumatic conditions
at rehabilitation centers. Exercises on the rockerboard can be
performed standing, kneeling, squatting and sitting.
Exercising on this balance board is less difficult than on the wobbleboard; you can even practise standing on one leg. It is recommended to start the exercise by moving ankles while seated on a chair. Once you have mastered that, you can try stepping on the rockerboard and bending your knees. Legs can also rotate by 90 degrees, moving up and down and helping to flex the ankle laterally. The user must be able to hold on to a firm prop at all times. Exercising on the rockerboard improves both dynamic skills and the mood and stamina of the practitioner. |
